    Looking for CZ Gunsmith

I will be jailing a CZ 75 Tactical Sport in .40 S&W on Monday. Ten days later I will need a gunsmith to do the following:

Install adjustable rear sight, and fiber optic front sight.
Install large magwell and medium aluminum grip.
    Install Extended RHS safety.

I am in Orange County but can travel about 50 miles or so to get this done.

Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS. CA roster laws suck. CZ Custom shop could have done all of the above prior to shipping the firearm, but due to roster rules (or their interpretation of it) could not modify it out of factory configuration.

If you want it done by a CZ specialist, I would send it to CZ Custom, or Cajun Gun Works. I'm picking up a 75 compact next week. When I'm ready to add night sights I plan on sending the slide to CGW. The front sights on those pistols are held in place by a roll pin, and my understanding is that pin needs to be drilled out, and must be drilled out from one side, if memory serves. I would only trust someone who specializes in CZ's to do that.

Bain and Davis in San Gabriel does good work, but I'm not sure of their reputation regarding CZ's.

If you don't mind the drive down to San Diego, Honey Badger Firearms and AO Sword are authorized CGW dealers. Not quite sure about OC though, but do I know Headhunter Firearms in Huntington Beach has worked on CZ's.

Just send it back to CZC or CGW but I would not take any CZs to B & D. The large mag well is pressure fit and the aluminum magwell grips you can do yourself. If you haven't purchased the f/o front sight, CGW sells one that is already drilled out for the roll pin. Rear adjustable is the Kensight adjustable LPA you can purchase from Amazon and install yourself.

Thanks. All the mentioned parts were purchased from CGW.

IMHO, Bain and Davis is overrated. If in San Gabriel, I'd go to Dave's Metalworks 100x before going back to B&D.

I completely forgot about Dave's. I've never taken anything to him, but I have heard that he is an excellent gunsmith. I believe he used to work for Bain & Davis before he went out on his own, and I've heard his work is top shelf. One thing I will say, do not take your gun to Bolsa gunsmithing. Many many years ago they used to do good work, but based on what I have read in recent years, the quality of their work these days is severely lacking.

Lol, agreed. I do most of my own work to my guns as well, but I haven't worked up the confidence yet to take a drill to them lol. That being said, I am new to CZ's, so hopefully that will change over time.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find the pistol? I've been looking for a 9mm TS unsuccessfully. I'm in San Diego btw.

I just picked one up from a calguner up north, you just need to keep looking.. They are far and few available.

The lower parts upgrade looks like a detail strip and drop in parts. Do it your self?

For the sights, any reputable shop should be able to swap out sights. Maybe less of a drive depending where from the OC, I do not think Alan Tanaka will not have any issues with the LPA/TRT sight installation. +1 with Dave as well. If nothing local drive, you can ship (& insured) just the upper for sights at a very reasonable cost.

                          Enjoy that ~2# trigger .

                            West Coast Gun Works

Try West Coast Gun Works in Stanton. They did a lot of work on my CZ's and they've always done good work for me.
