How Can I get A Ruger Charger

I want a Ruger Charger but I know I can't buy them in CA. Is there any legal way I can acquire one in the state? I was told from a friend I can buy one PPT from a guy who bought it out of state. Is this the only way?

its an assault weapon....unless you can find a way to pin the mag, I think you are out of luck.

AW it is. Mag cannot be infront of trigger unless gun is on the olympic/ target pistol exempt list. They are listed by name in the PC.

Savge single shot .22 pistols are legal though. Probably better for relaibility aNd accuracy too.

Don't know if this works for you, but if you have Mom or Dad out of state and can have it "un - AW'd" it can be intrafamily transfered. Given that Ruger has changed the mag release a bit, making it more prominent, you could change out with the older flat style and cover it with a metal strip with a hole in it for a BB.

          Charger

I don't know the details of it, but I was in Gun World, in Burbank, on Friday,
the 26th. I saw a man take delivery of a Ruger Charger. How I don't know, but I saw it!

Dfletcher is right.. LAnworld may even do that for you.

As far as the gun shop selling them, just cause it happens in a CA gunshop, don't mean it's legal folks.

I should clarify.. sometimes dealers cannot remember all 2,000,000 lines of penal code applicable to the sale of guns in CA.

(was not pointing fingers- I've been the vistim of finger pointing)

There's a more than reasonable chance that transaction was a pinned/locked 10rd mag variant sold to an exempt party (i.e., via LEO) or intrafamily xfer.

In the future (i.e, Real Soon Now) these will be able to be brought in & DROSed as unbarreled "NRFd' frames and then reassembled into a legal configuration after 10 day wait and pickup.
