Glock 42 slide help!!!

+1 for calling Glock, their customer service was great when I used them. I had issues with my 42 and they paid shopping both ways and upgraded parts. I know this is a different scenario but couldn't hurt to try

The often-used MGW sight pusher includes a special cam for the G42 to support the frame from the outside, not to simply lock the frame on by it's rails. Those guys may have had good foresight because they design well-engineered products. Or they may have had a similar boo-boo during the prototype stage. Regardless, that rails isn't as robust as the other Glocks so don't kick yourself too much.

That looks bad. Did it break when installing a new rear sight? It looks like you drove over it.

One good possibility is to see if a 9mm slide will fit it so that you can have a single stack Glock 9mm.

I called Glock. I'm able to send the slide in and request that the sights on my slide be transferred over to the new slide. $125 fix to my $50 initial problem.

I've replaced and installed sights on several Glocks without a site pusher. I still don't know who you managed to do that. Did you use a vise or filed the sight to fit? Looks like you pounded the daylight out of it to manage that.

Chuck it as lesson learned.

I haven't ran into Glock sights requiring that much force to take off or install.

$125 is a great price to get you back-in-biz. Kudos to Glock.

$197.04 was the final cost. I think I'll have a shop install my next set.
