Beretta M9A1

Found a used Beretta M9A1 for $550. Cost me $616 out the door. I don't know what the going rate for these are because they are on the roster after all. But it looked brand new like it has never been fired. I wanted it and bought it. Here are some pics I took in the gun store today.

If it shoot even half as good as my Beretta 92G-SD I'll be satisfied with it completely. I can tell the difference in the grip thickness though. This one is not as thick as the 92G-SD grip. When I get it I'm going to send it to Wilson Combat to have it converted to a G slide (decocker only). That will be the best $150 I'll ever spend on it. I'll do the trigger job myself, the same way I did my Beretta 92G-SD trigger job. Love it to death.

Who knows when it will be, but Beretta will be selling G levers later this year - that will be compatible with all the current 92 variants. An employee from Beretta confirmed this on the Beretta Forum. So, you may want to wait for these G levers instead of sending the slide to WIlson.

That is huge news, if true! I was about to send in my FS slide to WC pretty soon for the G-lever milling

Man that would be great if Beretta sold a G conversion lever you could install yourself. I thought that the slide had to be machined in order to convert it to a G slide. I did hear that the M9A3 pistol was being manufactured so that it's slide could take both a safety/decocker, and a decocker only system, and that that was going to be out soon. Are you sure that is not what you are talking about? No offense, just checking to be sure.

It's amazing, to me, that a G conversion can be accomplished with just a drop-in part, and that nobody has discovered that it can be done until now. Sure hope it's true, I will definitely be buying an M9 for my CCW (like the one in the OP) if it happens. My 92fs brigadier inox is too wide and too pretty for daily carry

Exactly. A safety would be nice if you were carrying with the hammer cocked (cocked and locked), but since you can't do that with a Beretta, that's why the G-type levers are so popular.

Good thing you bought a American made 92.
A guy at the gunshow told me that the 92s made in Italy have dried spaghetti noodles in the packaging.
