    non roster handgun

My buddy lives up in oregon and bought an m&p shield that he isn't a fan of. I don"t see it on the handgun roster for ca does that mean I cant buy it from him? I don't know how these out of state deals work I have never done it and don't want to get into trouble obviously.

      You can't buy it.

Vote, if you don't like this. Please.

If he had been a CA resident, you could have done a Private Party Transfer at a FFL.

        Asked and answered.

Interstate transfers to CA residents must run through a CA FFL.

Unless the transaction would be exempt (e.g. intrafamilial, parent-child-grandparent-grandchild) or
the gun would be exempt (e.g. C&R) or
the buyer might be exempt (e.g.LEO)
        the Roster applies.
