    Glock 30SF caliber change question

I am considering a Glock 30SF. I remember years ago there were drop-in 10mm conversion barrels. However, I've recently checked out the usual shops (Lone Wolf, Bar-Sto, KKM), and these 10mm conversion barrels seemed to have been discontinued. Reading up on it elsewhere, I see it's because the drop in barrel had issues unless a longer extractor was used, and most people didn't bother replacing the extractor.

Since these conversion barrels are gone, would the only remaining viable option be to get a complete Glock 29 slide then? Note, Glock 29 slides themselves seem to be out of stock, except stripped slides from Lone Wolf.

Ah that may be helpful. Thanks for the storm lake info.

Follow up question though: Let's say I get a longer extractor. Can I just keep that in the slide for both 10mm and 45 ACP? If it's the case that I have to switch out extractors each time I do a caliber change, that's not so fun

There are 2 sellers on gunbroker who sell complete New oem glock slides on a regular basis. might want to contact one of them and see if they have a 29 they'd pull apart for you. Not sure what your price range is, they usually run around 350-375 for gen 3 slides.

        I don't know about extractors... i use a complete 20 slide on my 21.

If i were you, I would run it with the stock 30 extractor and see how it does, I think you'll be fine

Guess I'll have to try first... whenever I get a Glock 30 + conversion barrel, who knows when?. And then if things get really bad I may have to see about longer extractor or dedicated 10mm slide.

          Thanks for the help

im using a factory g29 barrel on my gen4 g30 with no extraction issues so you might want to shoot it first, i hear its hit and miss with the stock extractor.
