The rifle yes...the pistol takes a magazine lock and a unique way of importation. I don't know of anyone with the pistol in CA.

Rifle versions (GSG5, GSG5SD) are CA legal.
Unless you put a folding stock on it (collapsable stock is okay).

Pistol versions (GSG5P, GSG5PK) are not CA legal.
Unless, you install a magazine lock and have an exemption (single-shot pistol, intrafamilia gift, LEO) in order to get it imported into CA.

I own one its TOTALLY worth it and I just put 300 rounds through it for the first time shooting it without a single failure and I used several different brands.

Federal Bulk (5 shots quarter **BEST VALUE and ACCURACY** in my opinion)
Federal Champion (5 shots slightly larger than a quarter)
Remington Gold (5 shots about a dollar coin)
Aguila Golden Eagle (about the size of a quarter 5 shots)
Aguila Standard (tightest groups at 25 yards 5 shots in less than a quarter) with a dot and irons.
