    First ar pistol build

Here's my first 80%er. Spent a little more than I anticipated but we'll worth it

    Ares 80% lower
    Spikes tactical upper & rail/handguard
    MBUS pro sights
    Fab defense hand accessories
    NIB bolt
    Rainer arms charging handle
    Tungsten cerakote
    CQB muzzle break
    Stage 1 hiperfire trigger
Thordsen enhanced cheek rest with mft saddle
    7" stainless barrel
    Vltor mur-1a with bolt assist

Probably missing a few things but that's the majority of it. Can't wait to put it all together but I still have to machine the lower out

Dig the tungsten cerakote, had that one in mind with burnt bronze or sniper gray and ended up going OD green. Think Ill just have to do three more pistol builds

You forgot "rattle can" so that's a 4th build. Everyone has to have at least one krylon ar..

Oh trust me, that "rattle can"build is set a side for my daughter's pistol when its time. the burnt bronze is my wife build, tungsten or sniper gray will be my boys pistol. AR pistols for everyone in the family, 300blk in my 10.5", 223 and 22lr conversion in the wifey's 10.5", 22lr in both the kids 8". And I may build myself another but in 223 so I can to plink 22r with the kids not being so loud next to them.

Are we still allowed to make pistol with 80%? I thought we weren't allowed to make ar pistol in ca anymore because of the changes made to sse.

From my understanding you still can build from a 80% I have four that I am sitting on, I have the receipt when purchased a few years ago and had them engraved with markings. However DOJ will not allow you to register a lower to a pistol? Please correct me if I am wrong about both of these statements. <<<fingers crossed>>>

80% are home builds..not DROS's as a rifle receiver..so I would think you could volreg one as a home build

Do you have a rough cost for completion with the parts you have?

It's still lawful to personally build a pistol. It has to comply with one of the following requirements:

                            1) Meet the dimensional requirements of code, be single-shot, and also be of "Bolt Action" or "Break-Top" design. or,

                            2) Pass the DOJ lab testing process.
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Off the top of my head somewhere around $1,500.

As I assemble I'll add the other pieces to the list up top
