    Glock Barrel Replacement?

OK I have a few questions about replacing the barrels on a couple of my Glocks. It looks at this point as though the Lone Wolf barrels are a good alternative for replacing he stock barrels. And although i most likely will go with those I am still looking for others recommendations on other options.

One thing i am concerned about is my 31C which is compensated has the cuts in the barrel off to the sides and set back a bit on the barrel. However from all the images i have seen on most of the aftermarket replacements they seem to have the port oriented in a different way and location so I want to make sure the ports are in the proper place as the factory ones.

So can some of you suggest other barrel options or help me figure out what barrels have the same layout as the Glock factory barrels.

    Also sites to buy from

    Thank,
    Richard

Why not just get Glock barrels? Or you planning to reload?

      A few reasons.

I would like to go to a normal land and groove designed barrel to get a bit better accuracy. Not that i have a issue. And i would also like to eliminate the chance of this stuff happening. Yes it is most likley not going to happen but why not eliminate the chance by simply upgrading the barrel.

You do know that Glock has improved their barrels since then?

If not Glock OEMs, then check out Barsto & KKM. High quality is the way to go.

Can you re-read my first post and answer any of the questions I asked? I do not mean that in a rude manner by the way. I am simply asking if you can answer my specific questions.

          Thanks

Lone Wolf Barrels are a nice replacement but note that the chambers are a bit tighter than the OEM counterparts. This sometimes causes your ammo to get stuck and is a pain to get out.

I have been reading up on the Bar Sto barrels and they seem to be drop in although it does say fitting may be required. What type of fitting?

I am really looking for drop in barrels. Would the Bar Sto fit this?

There are 3 versions of barrels, "Standard", "Ported", and "Compensated". You want "Compensated" for your 31C, not "Ported".

Everything I have read on the subject says that most of the time there is no work needed on the Bar-sto barrels, but you might have to do minor fitting as every gun is a little different. I'm about to invest in a bunch of aftermarket barrels myself here, and Bar-Sto and KKM are at the top of my lists.

I seriously doubt you'll get any significant improvement in accuracy from a drop-in barrel. The OEM Glock barrels are already quite accurate as is (at least in 9mm). The only aftermarket barrel I'd consider is a gunsmith fit Bar-Sto. Anything in-between, unless you're shooting lead or changing calibers, is a waste of money, IMHO.

I rechamber Wolf barrels as a normal practice now.
No ammo fit problems after that and they shoot great.

There's a LOT of tightening that can be done to a glock, even the stock barrel via welding and surface grinding to a perfect fit.

Take any stock glock while it's slide is closed and the barrel is locked up and puch downward on the barrel.
Did you feel that barrel and slide move?
All that movement can be removed without effecting reliability as the tightening job only effects final lockup.
Once the barrel unlocks from the slide, it will still be rattly loose like every other stock glock.
