    Intra-Familial Gun Transfer

Hello all. Just found this website and community and am happy i did so. Also i apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong area. I am a LEO, and owned a Glock19 G4. I realized i liked my Glock 17 more and decided i would give the G19G4 to my step-dad. My step-dad raised me since i was 3 years old. Am i able to complete a Intra-Familial gun transfer between him and i? or does it have to be only blood relative? I also know he cannot keep the high cap mags. Thanks in advance.

Step-parent does not qualify for intrafamiliar transfer. You can though PPT the Gen4 to him. 35 dollar DROS vs 19 dollar Intrafamiliar transfer. Not a huge deal in price difference, just a 10 day wait. I have a LEO relative that will buy those high-caps from you. PM if interested.

Just ppt it to him through a FFL. I think that should work.

      And welcome to Calguns!

You can do a person to person transfer (PPT) if you are both in the same location. You cannot transfer it it him if you are out of state, as he is not your lineage up or down the genealogy tree, and it's an off roster handgun.
