SP2022 vs XD

I currently own both the SP2022 and an XD in .40 cal. I'm considering selling both since they are the only .40 cal guns I have to eliminate a caliber. I also have other 9's and 45's. I like both guns equally.

Here's my question; if YOU owned these guns and were to sell both and replace only one of them in 9mm, would it be the SP2022 or XD9 you would go with?

Just looking for opinions and Glock is not one of them...

Not sure what MY opinion is worth, but I just shot both guns in 9mm back to back and I went with the SP2022.

For me it came down to 3 things. 1) I shoot tighter groups with the Sig. 2) The Sig can be SA or DA/SA while the XD can only be SA or unloaded. 3) The Sig has multiple grip sizes so I can adjust it to my wife's smaller hands if I decide to get a .45 for myself later.

That said, I really like the XD. But for my primary HD gun I feel just a little more comfortable reaching in the dark to pick up a loaded DA/SA Sig than a loaded XD.

Is it as simple as just a barrel swap? Same slides will still work for both guns?

Yes they sell 40 to 9 conversion barrels same slide just a barrel swap and now you can shot both calibers

I've had both pistols in 9mm. I shot the sp2022 way better than my xd9.

I Kept and shoot often my SP2022 , great accuracy and all my buddies with XD for carry say they like the SP2022 after they shoot mine.
I have over 4k rounds through mine with one barrel change and sig sent me a free laser replacement after mine went out.

2022 but only because I did not like the way the XD feels in my hand. BArrel conversion is cheaper though.
