You need to find out what the model number is and check this site.

    This site should help too.

Also, since he's a dealer he will have to sign up for the CFLC system before he can ship to your CA FFL.

You need to get the serial number and call Springfield Armory customer service. They can find out exactly which year and model # of the gun over the phone without charge.

The problem with identify a 1911 model by just look at appearance is virtually impossible. Call Springfield (1-800-680-6866) or email Vickie Lawrence (VICKIE@SPRINGFIELD-ARMORY.COM). Vicike is one of the best customer rep in Springfield.

Ahh you got that mil spec huh? I was watching that. I contacted the DOJ regarding this and they said if its FTF then your OK. But its a no go if it has to be shipped. Also too the seller didnt say if he was selling it as a consignment or private party transfer. I think either of those would be fine.

If it is a Mil-Spec it is on the roster. 9151L and 9108L are both listed. I believe all of the GI's are listed too.

It was 'pre mil-spec' Springfield emblem behind ejection port. They were very 'fuzzy' on their description. I know its a Mil-spec, you know its a mil-spec but just because springfield didnt specifically call it that then guess what it isnt. Thats what i was told, and thats why i hesitated in getting it.

                            Appears to be a 9108L

To be safe, I'd make sure the seller labels it as such when it is shipped to your FFL. The serial number prefix is consistent with a 9108L. Having the logo in a different spot should not change its roster status.
