Curious if anyone can maybe help me out in this, looking at gen3 glock 22/23 but have heard rumor that with a light attached to the rail they tend to have issues, is this with specific lights? Anything that can be done to fix this issue or what?

Glock 22/23

I believe this was with early gen 3 glocks from what I've read. I also believe it has happened on the newer gen 3's but only because people tighten the lights too tight on the frame. Someone with more experience will come along soonLast edited by MattH2h; 02-07-2016, 11:12 PM. -
Gen 2s do not have a rail cut I thought?Comment

That the light would effect the cycling of the pistol and causing a jam.Comment

Here is Streamlight's documentation: http://www.streamlight.com/static/do...lockissues.pdf
It's not specific to any light, nor can it be traced to a specific batch made. Maybe some days the polymer cures better than some days or the formula was mixed on a Friday.
Seems to be luck of the draw in this case. If you get a unreliable one, basically troubleshoot with the light, springs and ammo load and hope you get a reliable combination.
Check out how much this Glock (9mm though, so .40 might snap a bit more) dust cover flexes:
But if you look at other slow motion Glock's, not as much flex.Comment

Cool video. Some amount of flex is usually good. Here is Streamlight's documentation: http://www.streamlight.com/static/do...lockissues.pdf

I remember hearing about this a few years back. I wonder if it has anything to do with ambient temperature. My 23 looks like it has some slight pig nose going on. Maybe if it's warmer it's more flexible?
I'll have to check my 23 with TLR-1 sometime. I haven't fired many rounds with it mounted, if at all.Comment

I shoot my 23c with a tlr1 and my 20sf with a tlr2 all the time. Both run 100% reliable. The 20 runs fine even with underpowered .40s&w ammo. I have buddies with 22s and 23s who also run lights. Nobody has reported any problems to me. I wouldn't worry too much. Just shoot a couple hundred rounds through your set up. If it works, go with it. If not, try a different light or ammo."Suck on my machine gun" (Ted Nugent)

Yeah that's what it seems to be like. Streamlight's testing indicated that it wasn't in all guns or in all configurations. Some even worked with the 10 round mags, while the standard mags had problems. Weird. I would guess that for 95% of 22/23s it's not an issue.I shoot my 23c with a tlr1 and my 20sf with a tlr2 all the time. Both run 100% reliable. The 20 runs fine even with underpowered .40s&w ammo.
