CZ P-01 trigger weight reduction modification

Welcome to Calguns, and congrats on the P01! CZ pistols are awesome. Warning, you won't have just one for very long.
I would recommend getting the following for your P01:
- ultralite self defense kit the springs will greatly lighten the pull of the double action
- CGW Hammer A good hammer will lighten, smooth out, and give a crisp single action pull
- tapered punch and slave pin (helps tremendously when you have to remove the decocker cage. The slave pin will keep it as one unit)
All of this will run you about $150
I did the same thing to a SP01 tactical, and it's a nice trigger pull. I didn't do any polishing, so the DA isn't as smooth as it could be. However, when you put in those springs that lighten the pull of the DA, it is definitely better. Even with no polishing the difference is night and day with just these two upgrades.
As you said, since you're just trying to be held over until you can get an SP01, I would recommend getting the 3 piece spring kit and one of the CGW hammers. Those two things alone will hold you over nicely. Once you get an SP01, then you can go crazy on a trigger job.
Also, I'm not sure of your experience working on handguns, but the decocker CZ model is one of the more complicated to work on. I'm not saying you're unable, just beware if you plan to get into that decocker, such as changing out the arm lifter, if you go that route.
There are a few guys on here who have a ton of experience with CZs. There are also some good write-ups and videos on doing these exact modifications on the web. They greatly helped me.
It's also worth checking out the CZ Custom Shop. Turnaround was about two weeks to install a new hammer, sights and trigger job on an SP-01 Tactical, which is effectively a full-size P-01 (I own both. As KJV146 said, once you buy one, you want more). The trigger on the P-01 will smooth out after about 500 pulls, and for a quick and easy fix you can replace the mainspring yourself. You can polish the sear as well, depending on how comfortable you are with the work. The folks at both CGW and CZ Customs are all friendly and extremely helpful, so it's worth giving them a call.NRA Lifetime Member

I try to deny myself any illusions or delusions, and I think that this perhaps entitles me to try and deny the same to others, at least as long as they refuse to keep their fantasies to themselves.- HitchComment
