My G26 Gen4.....

I have several Glocks ( all 9mm) , I like my G17 Gen3 and Gen4 duty pistols a lot. Really like my Gen4 19 as a carry /range gun . Very pleased with my G43's as pocket/back up guns. My Gen4 G26 bought last year is spending all its time in the safe...... Am I missing something ? Or is G26 really good for nothing once You have a 19 and a 43?

I still think the G26 makes sense. Little bigger sure. Ability to take G17 and G19 mags (esp for you at standard capacity) and more shootable than a G43.

I think I shoot glocks fairly decent/well and shooting a G26 at 25 yards is a different animal than shooting a G43 at 25 yards. I see the advantage in owning a G26 (unless you carry the 19 all the time if not carrying the G43)

It's funny for myself I love 9mm glocks but I don't see the point of a 17 personally (love shooting them though).

The way I look at Glocks

G34- Many of my friends love theirs. Not for me
G17 - Great HD, Great Range gun. I see the appeal for duty carry, however not for me.
G19 - Does everything. Great for Range, HD, CCW, etc etc. My favorite firearm.
G26 - Nice for range and CCW
G42 - Nice for range. Great for CCW (not going to get into 380 vs 9mm debate). Wife cannot shoot the G43 comfortably, but loves her G42
G43 - Awesome for CCW. For myself not a ton of fun shooting one at the range after 100 rounds.

My G23 and G27 hardly get shot, but I check them often and dry fired to keep me familiar with the stock trigger. These are my house guns and counting on them to get me to my shotgun. I don't advise not practicing with your house guns, but when I take my house gun for a range run I can keep my stray shots in the 9 ring at 10 yards off hand. If you feel you need a back up gun for your G17/19 the G26 is the one. You can use the G17/19 mags whilst you'll have to pick the rounds out of the G17 mags before you can shoot them out of the 43.

A 26 is just as fat as a 19, but harder to shoot. I don't like them.

Strangely slow fire I have days where I shoot better with a G26 vs a G19.

The magazine interchangeability is the biggest benefit of the G26 imo.

I carry my 26 all the time.
Shorties are more difficult to shoot but worth the versatility of carry options and the kind of clothes you wear are not as critical.
*Using a 19 or 17 mag can help with grip too.

Respectfully, if you're going to do slow fire group shooting I can think of 80 guns I'd use before a G26. But I don't think that's the application for the 26. And 19/17 mags work just fine in a G19;-)

Haha this is true. Fun to shoot the g26 for groups or distance once in a while though

I actually really like shooting the G42 for groups. G43 I'm not as good with.

I find the 26/27 to be a nice little carry gun, I shoot my 27 much better then my 43. I find the wider grip to be easier to shoot fast then the thinner 43 and while I consider the 26/27 to be at the very limit for a primary carry gun, the 43 to me is too small and should be thought of as a back up to your primary carry.
The only time I'll just carry my 43 is when I'm too lazy to put on a holster and mag pouch. Quick trip to the mail box, store and such, I'll just toss it and a spare mag in my pockets and yes of course I use a pocket holster.

For me I agree. I see that as the primary benefit of the G43 too. I'm glad I have a G43 but I prefer the G26.

I have a 34 and a 26. 26 is on my permit and I carry it the most. As much as I try to like it , it just feels odd. I have pierce pinky extensions on it that helps a bunch but I can't shoot it like I can the 34.

It's a gen 4 so I will keep it, I think I will get a 19 to have on my permit as well as I can get them at blue label pricing.

Interesting topic...

I use a G17 Gen4 as my duty weapon and a G26 Gen3 as my back up. Recently, and when I say recently I mean this week, our agency approved the G19 and G43 as weapons we can carry for work.

I'm 100% sure that I will buy the 43, but I'm not sure I need the 19 since I have the 17 and 26.
