Second 1911 advice needed

I've recently bought Colt Commander .45 and liked it a lot. Very reliable and convincible. This made me want to get another one, - full size.

But since I paid some fair amount for he Colt I wonder if there's alternative that would be dependable, reliable but also affordable?

Reliable and affordable can be difficult to determine with a specific 1911, and "affordable" is not defined in the question.

At this point, I'll suggest a Springfield-Armory PC9111 or PC9111LR, if you can even find one. It's still on the roster, too.

You need to define affordable. I think the Springfield TRP is a great gun, and if I was in your shoes, I would be looking for a barely used one in the marketplace. If 1250 or so isn't quite " affordable" , the Springfield loaded model is a great option too for about 850ish. I had a Springfield mil-spec that bit up my hands due to the lack of a beavertail safety, and the sights were pretty small, but it shot well and was reliable. A lot of guys love their Rock Islands too, but I don't have any experience with those

Colt Commander is $850 msrp. By affordable I mean something that's less expensive than that. But I do not mean the cheapest possible 1911. I could've figure it out myself.

Just go on the CalGun Marketplace and do a search for 1911 on find something within your price range. Maybe you should consider a RIA or a Kimber. Let the Kimber hate begin. The haters made me want to sell my Kimber but once I spent a little more time with her, I feel she is a damn good tack driver. No FTF, FTE or rust.

+1 on the Springfield they are great guns, and have great customer service if needed.

And I would also look at the Kimbers. They also make a good product. There is quite a bit of Kimber hate around, but I've never had a problem.
