What handguns would you purchase and shoot to your heart's content if you:
1. currently live out-of-state, and
2. knew you would be moving to CA in about 1-1.5 years.
List at least a "full-size", "compact", and "sub-compact".
Background: I'm was a long time California resident that just moved to Washington at the end of 2015, and was hooked after my first visit to the range up here (maybe my samples are skewed, but it seems every other person I've met seems to have at least a handgun). I'm planning to move back to CA in about a year+ and originally was going to purchase my first handgun based on the list shown in the "Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale". However, after some reading on calguns, I found out about the ability of new residents being able to bring their own handguns https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/ab991.
I'm looking to start a "small" collection with at least a full-size and compact in 9mm and .45 (I'm guessing this is going to be an expensive "hobby" as several of my friends here already have 10+ firearms each, mostly handguns), and I think the only concern is that when I move back to California I'd only be able to bring the ones with a 10 round cartridge back.
Any thoughts would be appreciated (yes, everyone has their preferences, but I'm looking for some input). I figure I'm going to "live it up" while I've got the freedom to do so.
