Well, I believe a Colt should be in your collection. However I am interested in a SA TRP Operator.History can repeat itself, and it will soon. And when it does, it won't be the North and South. It'll be the "US Government" and the TRUE American people fed up with the Governments insidious ways, fueled by determination to see this Country return to its former glory. -

Lot of Calgunners seem to like their Dan Wessons. I've never shot one but sounds like makes great 1911's. I have a S&W1911, Wilson Combat CQB, SA GI and SA TRP half rail.
Since Half Rail off roster I would be just as happy w a full rail. If can find one for decent price I really do like my SA TRP.
Even though my S&W1911 is dedicated nightstand gun, the SA TRP just gives you the feeling it would never let you down- not as 'sleek' looking as some 1911's but just a serious work horse- and I like the trigger and strong feel of the safety- just seems to me like a well made gun and have SA's amazing warranty and Customer Service.
But that's just me, a guy who's never even shot a DW, etc, there's a number of great options I'm sure others will chime in on- but I can vouch for my SA TRP being worth the $1600 before tax paid for it last year. Rugged 1911 that doesn't like to be babied.Comment

+1 on the Dan Wesson. Kinda partial to the Bobtail 4" Commander. I tried a Ed Brown several months ago. I paid more for it than my Les Baer, and it was not as accurate. Right now, I've got a bad taste about Ed Brown 1911's.Last edited by gunprofit; 01-29-2016, 2:55 PM.Comment

How much are you willing to spend is the real question. You want to buy new or gently used? Something on the CA roster or off roster? Once you give us a better idea of what you are thinking of, we can give you our recommendations. Your thread is too general. Please be more specific.Comment

How about starting with a Mil Spec and having all the work done at the custom shop. I wont molest the one I have now but I've been thinking about getting started when I get the next oneLast edited by golfish; 01-30-2016, 1:34 PM.It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
