    First 1911...Colt XSE

So I picked up my first 1911 today, Colt XSE. I paid around 1065$ for it. It has a small blemish on the grip safety pad but other than that I love it. Definitely won't be my last Colt. Saving up for a standard govt issue and a Mustang for sure.

Man, this thing has a completely different feel than the CZ-97, the only other .45acp I currently own. It's been about 3 years since I shot my first Colt 1911. And I can't wait for the Commander I'm picking up in a few weeks.
I do have an interest in other 1911s just not sure where to go from here.

A couple things I noticed out of the box. The trigger is gritty. Nothing I can't get use to but I'll re-evaluate it after a few more hundred rounds. One reason I got the XSE was I liked the three hole style trigger. The sights were really easy to pick up and the rear Novak sight made the sight picture even better. The two stock magazines were a little difficult to load. Not sure if it's normal but when they are empty the mags sit right up against the magwell bottom. But when loaded the mags have a quarter inch gap or so. I can push them up to sit flush but they don't stay.

All in all I'm super stoked.

I see your swartz is as big as mine, now let's see how well you handle it

    Congrats! Nice pick up.

Be careful: Colt-itis, and it's cousin, Commander-itis are quite virulent.

    Enjoy!

I had to get the safety swapped out on mine, the back edge of the safety isn't beveled and the sharp edge tore up my had, and the ambi lever was really in the way of my grip. After that work, it's been fantastic!

History can repeat itself, and it will soon. And when it does, it won't be the North and South. It'll be the "US Government" and the TRUE American people fed up with the Governments insidious ways, fueled by determination to see this Country return to its former glory.

Curse you, OP. I thought I was over 1911's, having gotten rid of all of mine. But your beautiful piece has me thinking.

Your first and LAST "new" Colt!

Except for the one lonely Commander that's left on the roster!

What do you mean by that since I don't own a CZ-97? Good, bad, kicks more/less, interesting feel ... I do own a CZ-SP01 Thanks.
