    Springfield XD 9 is awesome

I was at the range earlier and a guy next to me was shooting very accurately. I look over to see what he's shooting and to my surprise it's an XD9 Tactical.

We start talking and he says he has other guns but he's the most accurate with the XD.

Asks me if I wanna try and I say yes. This is my first time shooting an XD and I was very impressed.

IMHO, this gun shot better for me and felt better than any polymer handgun I've shot.

Looks like my next gun is gonna be an XD.

XD 9 is a great pistol. Used it for duty, had it caked in sand during a BLM trip action was gritty kept firing no stoppages

All handguns are innately pretty accurate, it's just the little nuances and ergos that make us screw up when we shoot

I have 3 of them and for the money, they are a great value. Just for fun see if you can get your hands on one of the XDs models. At first glance you would think they would be harder recoiling given their size and weight, but acutally they are quite manageable.

My grouping skills are pretty weak, but I shoot my XD Tactical (.45) better than my Sigs, Glocks, Beretta, HK, S&W, u name it. It must mitigate all my bad habits better than the rest? Still haven't got used to the XDm 9

The xd tacticals are my favorite polymers. They point naturally and have pretty decent triggers. I do wish they didn't have the lci but at least it's not a mag disconnect.

I've actually been considering buying one, in the 4" barrel variety. I was thinking Glock 19 or the XD9. Just holding them both, the XD felt a little better in hand, but had a heavier feel also. Maybe that's good, maybe not. The shop I was at had the G19 in stock but not the xd9 in a 4" barrel. I plan on renting them both to get a better feel before purchasing.

The Glock seems to run about $100 more than the XD. What is a good price on these XD's?

I'm just not a fan of the takedown lever and it's placement on the pistol.

                    Reliable pistol non the less....

I got a XD9 Service BNIB for $230 in a PPT a few months back - never thought much of them until I shot it It is a great shooter, very good trigger and accurate.

I've seen it for <=$450 at Turner's when on sale.

The store I was at today had one but it was shorter than 4", not sure exactly. Anyway it was $464 so about average I guess. The G19 was $100 more.

I was at another shop a few days ago that only had xd40's @ $499. Said the 9's would be the same price.

XD's can be had at $399 during special promotions. Wait for Sprinfield's promotion on top of that for extra magazines and mag holster.

Regular sales of XD's are usually $429-450ish.

For the price, it is one of the most under rated pistols. Can do without the grip safety but it's not a deal breaker.
