    Hk P7 PSP question

Found a lead on a gun that looks exactly like this:

Problem is, it doesn't have the original box, and there is no way to determine if the top rail has been chrome/nickel plated at the factory or afterward.

Is there a big difference either way with regard to the collectible value if it was at the factory or after?

Any idea what a fair California value is of the above gun with 2 magazines? It is a date code of 1970's.

I'd stick with factory finish IMO. Prob best to take the inquiry to HKPRO.com.

Without the original box/manual it's already taken a big hit on its collectible value. How much is the one you're looking at?

        Hk P7 PSP question

There was never a factory 2 tone P7. That for sure is an after market slide refinish. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but don't for a second let them tell you it is factory or rare or special. Fords & Robar have both done a ton of refinishes on P7's.
What is pictured in the link is a German police P7 with flush heel mag release. These came in and many distributors had the ones with some holster wear refinished by robar in np3. Many were done complete and some were done two tone. Buy it if you like it, but it is not rare or special in the p7 world. It is rare and special in the handgun world, as its a P7!!! [emoji3]

Value in the Ca market considering it doesn't have the box or paperwork or tools I would say is probably 1400 or up. If you could get it for 12 I'd say you got a deal. If you could get it for 1k you got it for a steal. If you're paying over 1,500, take a deep breath and think about how badly you want this particular p7.

          Hk P7 PSP question

Also, if the one you are looking at is exactly like the one in the link and has the "NDS" stamp, it was a Lower Saxony state police trade in. These were originally sold by CDNN for 6-800 depending on grade, refinish etc. they all went through HK USA and were given a clean bill of health before being sold by distributors. The original pricing has little bearing today as it's unlikely any more will surface and everything for sale is in the secondary now. The guy in your link has a bit of wishful thinking on his price in free America, but hell you never know. I wouldnt pay what he wants for it.

The only factory nickel were date coded KC which is 1992 and were nickel all over other than the grip screws, slide release and trigger as seen below which is a true factory nickel P7M8.

I just paid 1650 for this grade B 1982 Arlington P7 PSP but it is a civilian model and not an NDS police trade in. Very rare to see a civilian model in California. I paid fair value since it was a civilian model. I wouldnt pay anymore than about 1200 for a police trade in and that would be for a grade A.
I just put a flush heel release on it an am waiting for a set of longer grips that Jesse from HK is sending me

                Hk P7 PSP question

Beautiful P7 congrats. I would be very surprised if you could ever find a grade A lower saxony trade in these days for 1200 in Ca. It may not be worth it to you, but the market at large continues to push the prices of P7's higher and higher. We'll be at 3k+ for
                M8's by 2020 I'd bet. JMO. Enjoy your P7.

I only say 1200 because only a few months ago they were in stock at Top Gun for under 900 and they are due to be back in within another few months. Some trickled into Cali after that sale. It wont help trade in models price climb as much but it will certainly help civilian models and M series rise in price.
