I saw on FB they made some changes to base access. Have there been any changes re firearms transport? As I understand it if I'm in compliance with CA law I'm GTG?

The base no longer has open access and non- service members have to be sponsored by active duty or retired (I think). I heard they were making exceptions for events but you should contact to base before hand.

You must pre-register for Santa Margarita Gun Club matches on their website (www.smgunclub.org) by 1500 on the Wednesday before the match.

The list of competitors is turned in to the base at that time.

Transport your firearms in accordance with California law.

If you have not competed in a match before and want to check it out, you can pre-register as a 'non-firing participant'.

Ah damn! I had recently found out about the EIC program; was looking to give it a try and maybe get some extra swag for the uniform, however my only .22 pistol needs to be seriously worked over to be reliable enough for competition.
