    Hi cap mag on S&W

I have a hi cap mag from a 9mm S&W 59 series that fits in my compact 6904. I bought this way back in 96, can I use it legally in Kali even though its from a different model?

Sure. It was a high cap mag. It was acquired/owned in CA before the cutoff date (1/1/2000).

Doesn't have to be tied to the model.

Enjoy. I bought a bunch of S&W hicap mags back in the late 90s and I didn't even own a matching pistol then. Works fine now in my S&W 915.

Reminds me of the "good old days"

Talking about the 1/1/2000 CA magazine law reminds me of the December 1999 gun show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Everybody knew the law was coming in within weeks, and every table at the gunshow was piled high with high cap magazines of every type. Every dealer from Nevada and Arizona had come to the gunshow with his inventory. People were buying magazines for guns they didn't even own yet.

The air was redolent with the smell of honest commerce underway. Now all those magazines are hiding in gunsafes throughout the region.

Yeah, I remember those days. I went to two gun shows, both days each, multiple trips to the car to drop off, just before the ban.

I bought mags for guns that I might want to own someday... I already had plenty of mags for guns I owned...

Your S&W 59 mags will also work in a Marlin Camp 9 carbine.
