    Gun registration question????????????

I am in Los Angeles. A friend of mine is in from Arizona and he brought his pistol (Glock 34) with him to shoot at a range here. If I wanted to buy his Glock can we go to a FFL here and register it in my name or does he have to go back to Arizona and send it through a FFL???????? He bought and registed the Glock in Arizona.

He can sell it to you at a CA FFL. G34 is on the CA Roster, so that's OK. FFL can charge whatever interstate transfer fee he wants.

'Registration', as such, is a partial result of the CA Dealer Record of Sale -- DROS -- process.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I've heard of this being done using the Firearms Registration Record off of the DOJ site.

        NO!

None of these forms are used to do an out-of-state transfer of a firearm.

Federal law requires an out-of-state transfer to be processed by a FFL dealer in the recipiant's home state.

Since, the OP's friend is a resident of AZ and the OP is a resident of CA, the firearm transfer must be done through a CA FFL dealer.
Since, the OP's friend is already in CA, they can both show up to a CA FFL dealer to do the transfer. Since, it is an out-of-state transfer, the CA FFL dealer can charge more than a PPT to process the transaction.
