Beretta 92 compact type m. Out of production?

I saw this only beretta compact on the roster and started googling. Not in production. With all the love single stacks seems to get for ccw it seems weird that beretta doesn't make this anymore. Anyone that has this white whale want to give your thoughts.

The full size 92 I shot once seemed a bit bulky

How does a compact (not single stack) compare to the full size. Anyone have both? Same grip on that one?

I always wanted a 92F but the grip was too big. Got a Type M because of the thinner grip. I went to a three day course with it and that DA pull was killing me. I couldn't lighten the trigger because it was my carry piece. The gun didn't balance well either. It was top heavy due to the short grip. I let it go and transitioned to Glocks. Here's a pic...

I looked into them also when my buddy scored one for $400. He stole that thing!! I've never seen another one for sale. I thought he was lying when he told me he picked up a single stack beretta.

Compared to the full-size. The Type M grip is shorter and thinner, barrel is also shorter.

The barrel length of Type M is the same as the 92 compacts. Not sure if the grip length is the same as the compacts.

Keep in mind that there is a 92FS compact and compact Type M. The compact is a double stack mag with shorter barrel and grip than the 92FS fullsize. The Type M is the single stack model with shorter barrel and grip than the 92FS fullsize.

The Type M has the same short grip as the compact but the thinner grip didn't feel right in my hand. The trigger reach was much more manageable though. I sold it about 5 years ago and really don't miss it.

Sadly, the non-rail double stack compacts dropped off of the roster back in 2003, when Beretta didn't see value in keeping every variant on the roster, production or not. Now, with Wilson Combat selling the 92G compact (double stack, non rail), there is a good (though purely speculative) chance of the regular model coming back into production.

Even double stack pistols are single stack in Cali.

Yes, the Type M, while on the roster, is out of production. But, so was the Vertec, the Brigadier, and the the G-SD, and the 87. Beretta just started reproducing those again in the last year or so, so it is conceivable that they may begin reproducing the Type M as well. I hope so, because I want one too!

I have 2 or 3 of them. 1 inox and 1 or 2 bruniton. I don't shoot it particularly well and prefer to carry polymer for my cwp piece.
