It is a purpose built gun for competing in IPSC or USPSA limited. 1 3/4-2 lb LB trigger.

The sp01 is a great gun and is great for competing as well. I know several people that use them in the production division in USPSA. The sp 01 is much more versatile than the tac sport.

Apple and an orange. TOTALLY different guns. I have both, but can't list all of the differences...this is a case where you really need to do a google search.

One is a service pistol and the other is a competition pistol. If you live in a few state the tac sport.40 has much improved capacity too.

The Tactical Sport is setup from the factory for competition use. it has a very light, adjustable single action trigger. The frame is larger than the SP-01, as is the standard magazine capacity. The slide comes from the factory machined for LPA rear sights. I believe the barrel may be fit with tighter tolerances than the typical SP-01, but both are regarded to be very accurate. There are several internal differences with the action, etc., they don't share most parts.

The Tac Sport is an amazingly accurate pistol. If you are a shooter you will.definitely appreciate one.

I do not know anyone who has shot a tac sport that didnt buy one

I always hear when shooting a TS, it's like cheating.

View it as a CZ75 fitted into the CZ97's larger frame. That also means the magazines are somewhat different, as the TS is a full doublestack, unlike the staggered stack CZ75. This also means the grip size is noticeably different.

Most importantly, there is no firing pin block, which allows the timing to be more tightly setup (shorter reset, really).

I would be careful stating that it is like the 97B frame. While both have larger grip areas than standard 75's they are different shapes and feel totally different.

If you are going to use it at the range, and want a target type of pistol get the TS. If you want an "all around gun", (range, home defense, etc) get the SP-01. Or, be like be and get both, then get the 97B.

Ok thanks guys. Sounds like this is a very good competition gun and that's good to know.

IN fact it used to be named the "CZ-75 IPSC Standard" or something like that, before it became "Tactical Sport", with "Sport" being the operative word here.

It makes shooting too easy though. It is my win bets at the range gun haha

                          Thanks

That standard capacity is 20 rounds

Buying one instantly makes your "third leg" go two inches longer! It's been clinically proven

Or wait no, it's like a big lifted truck when at the range it screams "I'm compensating"... For a lack of shooting fundamentals

Either way sounds like you need one!

The CZ75TS has a single trigger bar inside, so the SP01's dual bar will be stronger & theoretically more reliable. The TS trigger is much much lighter though. I believe the triggers on the TS are plastic too.

Glocks and XDs have a single bar, so it is subjective if you think there is really an added value to the extra material.
