Range report, Kimber Eclipse Pro Target II

    At 25 yards, Standing

The pistol shot flawlessly, I will have to work on my end.
It is a handfull, I was hoping the extra weight of stainless would make up for the shortness but there is no substitute for mass.

If you want a little more weight, a tungston guide rod might help a tad.

If you want to make it heavy and if it has a barrel with bushing, have the barrel sleeved to turn it into a bull barrel. Add a few more ounces with a tungsten guide rod and I'm sure it will dampen the recoil on that pistol. Drawback is the weight, so it all depends on how you want it.

I love how it just rips off the extra coating due to it being a .45 round. You hardly see that with .40 or 9mm lol. Not bad for 75 feet out, even though you do have better sights then mine on yours What kind of rounds are you using for now? My Custom II <3's WWB from Wally World I even use them for Home Defense as well It is a big enough round to stop almost anything As you can see with your Shoot N C Targets

Looking good so far, post up some 10 and 15 yard groups once you get those.

Is this a NEW gun from a shop?? I thought Kimber Eclipse II (and all current Kimber) has internal extractor?

I believe it is the other way around. Older Kimbers had internal extractors as far as I know.

                I m a 1911-newbie.

So, is this internal or external extractor?

(this pictures is from kimber's current website, and I think that is a current model, if I order from the dealer)

                Or are there 3 versions?
                1) Oldest -> internal, then
                2) there is a version with external extractors, and those are problemo-matic, and then
                3) they went back to the old working internal extractor??

The last one pictured is an internal extractor.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately there is no bushing, so I can't add weight that way. I don't believe that there is enough room to sleeve this barrel. It already has a full length guide rod so the additional weight of a tungsten alloy rod would be just over an ounce. I will look into that.
                    Thanks, WW

I'm using 230gr RNFMJ with 5.2gr of VihtaVuori N-320 reloads. It has eaten every shape I have tried (TC, SWC, HP) except full wadcutters which is understandable. I loaded up some Hornady XTP hollow points for home defense.

You are correct. This was a consignment purchase. Very low round count.
