Night Sight Recommendations for S&W M&P Shield

Happy New Year All.
Was interested in recommendations for night sights for my M&P shield. Originally I was interested in only the front sight, but looks like most of the options are for front and rear.
Also, the sight removal/replacement process for the Shield looks to be a PITA. I see there is a sight tool for sale but it's kinda pricy especially for something I might only use one time. As such, I'm in OC and will find a local guns shop who can do it but I'm open to other thoughts you might have.

3 dot system to single dot...

Cant go wrong with trijicon, warren tactical, 10/8, mepro

Did you put them on yourself or did you have a smith do it?

Ameriglo Hackathorn, great, great sights.

I also have a set of Ameriglo CAP and they're nice, not as good as the Hackathorn set.

The Trijicon HD's suck, badly, I hate them. Have a set on my 42, they're lousy, expensive, and are sharp as hell.

I replace my Glock sights using a vise, leather glove wrapped on the slide, a brass punch, ballpeen hammer, and a 3/16 nut driver (Glock front sight). Cheap but it works.

Agreed! Sights should be lined up naturally during presentation, if not practice, practice, practice until they do.

I know you're not a fan of night sights, and maybe one day I'll learn, but I do like them for a few reasons. I'd still buy the Hackathorn set even without tritium, they're outstanding.

I have trijicon HD night sights in my shield.
It was a tough choice between those or the ameriglo hackathorn sights.

XS makes a set of Big Dot and Standard Dot sights for these, but they do not come with a rear stripe tritium option.

I just checked on 1/1/16 and they're still on sale. It appears the seller at $121.95 is out of stock. But if you buy it, they'll ship as soon as they get more in.

Yes, I see that too, but that's for the yellow front sight. Is this what you saw at the gun shop? I'm curious as to how the yellow front sight would look against various backgrounds.

I actually had a buddy of mine put them on for me, and they are spot on.
