Geco 380

I went to the range yesterday and shot my .380 pocket carry pistol. I had bought 6 boxes of Geco .380 ball. I've never shot this brand before, but bought it because of it's rep as a quality European brand.
Well, the first round failed to go completely into battery. The pistol was clean and lubricated. The slide stayed back about 1/8". A little tap and it was good to go.
About 50% of the rounds would not chamber correctly. I switched to comparable Winchester's and got 100% reliable feeding.
So, I guess there is some dimensional problem. A tight chamber and/or a little oversized ammo? I'll have to check it out.
So, the old cravret, be careful when buying. I would be really pissed if I had bought a full case or more. I'm not saying that this ammo is bad (at this time), just that it doesn't work in my pistol.

Some guns just don't like certain ammo. I bought some (1000) 95 gr Fiocchi for my P380 and the gun won't do anything with it. Multiple FTE's and FTRB's.

I'm gonna say this x2. I've used thousands or rounds of GECO and RUAG, no issues. Never .380 to be fair.

Whenever I'm trying some new ammo or a new load, I'll start off with 50 or 100 rounds tops until I see what it does on the range. If it's all good, then I'll proceed with the bargain-hunting or the bulk reloading.

Ferinstinz, many moons ago I had a Colt Pocketlite .380 that I didn't reload for. Trying to keep it cheap, I tried Blazer FMJ and JHP loads. For some reason (bad bases?) the FMJs were directionally indifferent, but the JHPs shot very well.
