L.E MODEL S&W SHIELD 40 CALIBER? Can I sell it?

Purchased the shield as my backup weapon. Recently switched over to the Glock 43. My question is, can I sell the Shield to a private and non law enforcement person. If I can sell it what is it worth? Is there a difference in pricing with the law enforcement model versus the civilian model.

Yes, you may sell it to a non-LE person via Private Person Transfer. You just can't buy and resell on a frequent basis or do it as a means of making money. That doesn't mean you can't make a profit, it just means you can't be in the business of reselling firearms.

As far as value, if you got it at a LE price, you could sell it for that and make someone not in LE very happy. Since the single shot exemption was lost, the LE version is much harder for non LE to obtain. The marketplace forum might give you a better idea on value.

Yes, you can sell it. Mid range CA version is about $450; low end is $420.

I've seen non-CA Shields posted for $600-ish, but not sure if they sold at that price, however those didn't have the manual safety. Yours would just lack the LCI and MDC, correct?

I'd say to post whatever you wish and see if you get bites. It's a free market.

You can sell it. How much you sell it for depends on you. You could probably sell at a profit or you could sell it for what you paid and call it even, and give someone a break on a gun that other's are selling at a premium. No I'm not looking out for myself either I've got one.

I'm new to the site, & I appreciate all your answers to my questions. I'm definitely not out to take advantage of anyone.

Also, the sale must go thru a licensed dealer.
