springfield xd new finish?

i was in the store today and was checking out a springfield xd stainless. however it was much darker than i remembered. did springfield make a new finish for the stainless model? am i just imagining things?

I can't comment on the XD stainless but I was going to buy a 1911 Loaded stainless and did not like the dark sort of gray color, so ended up buying the Parkerized version. I like stainless to be brighter.

I haven't seen at XD Stainless in a while but my XDS Bi-Tone had a darker silver slide. I actually like it a lot.

yeah ok i thought i was going nuts. so anyone have any info on why its a different color? new finish?
