    another issue with FM reman...

i bought about 6K rounds from freedom munition in the course of 2.5yrs in 9mm and they were great for the price for target practice.

today was a fun day at the range with my CZ SP01 + 9mm FM Reman shooting at 10yds. was able to hit a lot more bullseye this time instead of being at 15yds.

in the recent batch i've been shooting last weekend and this weekend, i've noticed some strange things happening. after ever range trip, i strip my CZ down to clean. since i don't get to go out often, never know when will be the next time out, so prefer to keep it spiffy clean afterwards.

last weekend, i had some issue where my SRS from CGW didn't reset smoothly, felt gritty. when i field strip, i noticed the sear cage area was really dirty from the reman. in previous batches it ran pretty clean, perhaps this lot is a lot dirtier.

today.. same thing happened. it wouldn't reset and sometimes, it wouldn't fire. brought out my toothbrush and give it a good scrub on the dirty sear cage, CZ is back to normal.

shot a total of 200rds today.. had 5 hang fire, which i never experienced before but glad i kept it pointing down range.

anyone else had that before with FM reman?

Never had a hang-fire with FM reloads.

We've had 4k+ in 9 mm and 45 ACP. Never a problem with them. I had 1 round with an upside down primer. Other than that, the 9 mm is just slightly lightly loaded, even in 124 grain. They cause some issues with the wife's Glock 19. But, that's not really the ammo's fault.

Maybe give FM a call with the lot numbers and see what they say.

REDdawn6: had a Glock 19 Gen4, sold it and never looked back. Try a CZ.. you might enjoy the cool-aid.

Recently, I purchased remanufactured training ammo (9x19) from a local gun store in San Diego. In the course of firing 50 rounds I had numerous rounds that failed to leave the barrel. Unknowingly, I fired into a clogged barrel - and by that - cleared it. Fortunately, the barrel or more accurately - the chamber held together. I am done with re-manufactured ammo. Not worth a damaged pistol over.

My experience, never had any issue with FM, and I almost universally buy from them because of their constant sales and free shipping ads.

Satex, good to hear the barrel and chamber held together! i've been using up my reman and only have 500rds or so left. i'll let FM know.. if they are willing to give me credit or exchange, that would be cool. otherwise, it's ok.. i'll just use it up and no more.

i had some 9mm 124 gr fm reman. ran it through my glock and had some ftf issues maybe 2 in 100. but the 2 were bad. got stock and had to slam the slide quite hard to get it out.

What store in San Diego and what brand were the reloads?

Never had a problem with FM handgun ammo, new or reman, but I did have a problem with their 223. Gave them the lot number and they replaced it no questions asked.

No hangfire after thousands of 9mm FM new and reloads. The 115gr FM ammo are the lightest loads I have ever seen, but they work fine even in my G34 and SP01. Sometimes spent cases eject less than 6 inches.
The primers are harder than other factory brands. I don't use the CGW SRS in my SP01 so not an issue.

For what it's worth, the only difference between their remans and new is the brass so you can't attribute the dirty load to the fact that you're using reman. This year for 9's and 45's I'm 0 for 8000 in the issue department. Never really noticed that my guns were overly dirty after shooting and they all get cleaned every 2-3 Range trips.

Buy a Glock, I shoot 400-500 rounds of the cheapest ammo you can find at walmart every Sunday. Never any issues at all, and my Glock comes home absolutely filthy. Tula, WWB and Federal Aluminum case. I didn't even clean my Glock from last weekend, just did a quick rub down, one patch through the barrel and that was it.
Put some 10/30 full synthetic in it and it's good to go tomorrow and it will run all day without a single issue.

my only grip about the glock is the grip. it's just not as ergo and comfy like the CZ grip. when i had the 19G4, i even put hogue grip on, which didn't help too much and the trigger on that was not my cup of tea. personally i like the beretta storm PX4 or MP9 trigger better.. and yes, i know you can add aftermarket triggers to the glock.
