    Ruger Mark III Hunter SS

I'm meeting up with a fella this weekend to PPT. I understand that these are rare, off roster and somewhat of a unicorn. MSRP $629. What would be a fair price for one LNIB?

Rare and sweet. I would say $550 to 650

$450 would be my offer. If I just had to have it, I might go to $550. I refuse to pay more for a firearm just because it isn't on the roster. So far, I haven't ever cried about not overpaying. Sooner or later, I find what I am after for a fair price.

Pretty bad actually I just picked up a Mark III 22/45 4inch bull and a Mark II 5 inch bull. The hunter would top it off.

Veering slightly off topic, Mark IIIs are known to be a total pain to break down. But I sat down with some YouTube vids (there are many to choose from) and practiced over and over again for a week to ingrain it.

It can be done and once you get the hang of it, pretty easy. Mine was filthy inside, all gunked up. But it kept firing anyway.

A nice, cheap upgrade is the TANDEMKROSS Hammer Bushing.

If a klutz like me can do it, anyone can.

Edit: The TANDEMKROSS Hammer Bushing eliminates the need to putting in and taking out the magazine when field stripping.

Agreed, but only the first time...assembly (with all factory parts) can be confusing as well with having to insert the magazine and such. Tricky (and tight fitting on a new one, especially lining up the barrel with the take down pin) for the first time but you quickly get the hang of it. Would HIGHLY recommend removing the magazine disconnect (don't ever put the magazine in the wrong way as getting that out is a PITA) and the parts (google search) to eliminate the magazine requirement for disassembling/reassembling. Also, lose the plastic LCI and get the stainless filler instead. Amazing pistol, truly.

What ever the seller wants, honestly he could ask for 1000, and someone will probably take it. I never thought i would, but i paid 850 for a gen 4 glock, i wanted it, so had to cough up the dough.

Only thing that limits my ppt purchases is the fact sellers dont take credit, id be in some real trouble if they did.

If its off roster (isn't it?), value is north of $700 on the street. I was just offered $650 for my Mark III Target SS. Hunter's usually get more.

Sure did! Dates back to 2008 production and original purchase date and never fired except for factory testing.
