So I have an LC9s, and am very impressed with the gun. Accurate, great trigger, been reliable, although I haven't put too many rounds through her. Now I am considering a Shield. Not to replace the LC9s, but to compliment it. But seeing how I am so happy with the Ruger, I don't want to set myself up for a disappointment with the Smith. For those of you with experience with both guns, what do you like better about the Shield? Same question on the Ruger? Will I be disappointed in any way?

I'm sure he's talking about the LC9S the striker fired version and not the regular LC9 which has a internal hammer. They trigger is way different from one another. When I compared the trigger from a LC9S and Shield, the LC9S felt better to me out of the two.Comment

I have shot both and like both. The LC9's (not the LC9) has a great trigger where as the Shield either needs the Apex kit or a trigger job to make it even close to the LC9's.
To me the Shield feels a tad better in the hand and has a better durable finish.

My buddy has both the Shield and LC9. Once he got the Shield, the LC9 never saw the light of day, so I'll be taking it off his hands.

Since the striker fired LC9S is off-roster and is therefore unavailable to most mere mortal Californians I'm not sure what the OP's point is other than "nah na nah na nah I have something that you can't have".
Anyway, I would hope that Ruger did a better job on the "S" than they did with the horrific trigger in the hammer-fired version of the LC9 that they sold in California."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--

I have both and like the shield more. Contrary to many, I like the shield trigger more than the striker LC9. The Ruger just has a longer pull than is necessary. OTOH, My wife likes it and carries it.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕPaul

Folks, I am talking about the LC9"S", as in the striker fired model, which I have now. Not the LC9. I once HAD an LC9 (hammer fired version). I learned my lesson and unloaded that one. So, LC9"S" vs. Shield.

Ahhh. My point isn't to say nah, nah, nah at all. I acquired the LC9s via SSE, just like many mere mortal Californians could have at the time.Since the striker fired LC9S is off-roster and is therefore unavailable to most mere mortal Californians I'm not sure what the OP's point is other than "nah na nah na nah I have something that you can't have".

And yes, the LC9s is head and shoulders above the old LC9, but you apparently don't know that.
Your post is accusatory and adds absolutely no value, and you don't have any experience with the LC9s or the Shield (at least you offered no guidance), so why did you bother to reply????"Bye Felicia!" - Said by me, as I looked at Kalfornia in my rearview for the last time, 9/22/17.

Yeah, the LC9S is an incredible 9 with a really nice trigger. Like many of us I bought a large amount of SSE handguns when we could. I have the regular LC9S and the Pro model. (Not bragging, just a fact that I went full retard buying 25 SSE handguns.....
)
It's good to be the King. (Joke)
Held a Shield recently and it's slightly larger and the trigger isn't as nice (my opinion only). I don't want to buy an Apex Kit either.
I consider the LC9S one of the best but not many people know about them.
Be well and Happy Holidays to all of you...
