IMO it's hard to go "wrong" with anything, most guns you can pick up new at a gun store will serve you well.

Good choice going for 9mm, you'll be able to afford ammo [emoji2]

Don't second guess it......you made the right decision. Now, buy some ammo and enjoy the piece.

You did fine, especially choosing 9mm instead of 45 acp, which is 50%-75% more expensive so you can shoot more.

If you get a .22LR pistol, you can shoot even more because 1 round cost ~10 cents compared to 23 cents for 9mm.

If you don't like the guns, you can easily sell them on this forum.

This is the first gun he will use for concealed carry and at the range.
Do not get a Serpa, it is garbage. Most if not all of the holsters on that list are external carry vs CCW (I skimmed it)

You made excellent choices. If your guns were meant for HD and personal preparedness then I say mission accomplished. Both guns will definitely serve that purpose god forbid they need to be used for that purpose.

Are they the "best" guns that you could have bought? That is an irrelevant question that nobody on this forum can answer. The "best" gun for resale value or for collectibility or for simply fun can be answered easily. But "best" for your purposes can only by answers by you. Ultimately, what works best for you is the correct choice. So get out soon and start shooting them to figure out how well they work for you. I would bet that you will be very pleased with both.

Great choice on the SA/DA Beretta.
As far as the SD9VE, a 3rd Gen Glock 17 or 19 would have been a better choice for not much more.
I would suggest getting a dedicated 22 LR handgun like the Browning Buckmark (that is still on the DOJ approved list). You will get much better accuracy and reliability.

I take classes with my Glock 17 and I use a Fobus holster when I do.

I have a variety of Remora IWB holsters in case I am ever given the right to conceal carry. A Glock 17 wouldn't be my first choice for carry though.

I only have one true duplicate since Sig and Glock make so many variants of their guns. From my spreadsheet:

If you are new to guns, don't forget to think about the most important thing of all, training. Take a class or two from NRA. They are cheap and very educational.

No handgun is a bad choice. Train, train, train and always be safe. Learn how to shoot your gun(s) and how to clean, repair, and install aftermarket parts. Also time to stockpile ammo. Ammo prices are slowly creeping up again.

                            You're a good man.

Yeah, with 5 kids that shoot I think I was up to 25 Glocks at one time. I have some Gen 4s I haven't shot yet. Hiding them from the kids....haha

The Sigma series is basically a Glock design rip-off. Go buy a Glock 17 or 19 and customize it to your likings.
