I would skip any anniversary/commemorative edition guns. They don't hold any value, and you'll most likely lose out a lot if you try to sell it in the future.
A simple M9 or 92FS would be my choice if you want a Beretta. -
What Black Majik said. It's basically a standard M9 with bells and whistles. If Beretta loses the military contract in the next couple years, and it looks like they probably will if the XM17 trials continue, it may increase in value in the future, but that won't be for a long time. You would also have to refrain from shooting it and racking the slide etc. to keep wear to a minimum. If you're looking for a collector, go for it. If you want a shooter, just to get an M9 or any other 92 series pistol.Last edited by Dimitri A.; 12-15-2015, 10:20 PM.Comment

That's a pretty good price for the anniversary model, the MSRP is $1099. I'd pick one up at that price if it was on the roster even knowing it might not appreciate in value.
I would pass on it though if you were looking for a shooter. Check out the Vertec or Brigadier for your first Beretta.Comment

I too would skip commemorative/special edition guns.......price is fine but if you want a shooter AND want to keep value and NOT diminish your potential buyer pool down the road if you need to sell it, get a standard version. If it is an investment; don't bother. If you want the cool stuff; go for it or just get a regular M9 and don't worry about scratching the pretty finish.Comment

If you are considering this as a HD pistol and you wish to have a light mounted on the gun, consider the M9A1, it has a rail.
You can get aftermarket rail adapters that bolt onto a 92FS, they are a bit clunky but do work.
I didn't like the stock trigger, it's fairly easy to lighten but the gun has large grips and the front sight is integrated into the slide.
It's not my bedside gun but I can say I've never had any problems with it other than I shoot other pistols better.Send Lawyers, Guns and Money - On second thought, hold the Lawyers.Comment

Standard beretta unless you really like the look of the one you posted.Originally posted by longrange1my gun shoots better with shiny brass...plus not only does the shiny brass make me look like a pimp at the range if the sun catches it just right it blinds the guy next to me which improves my odds of winning the match.Originally posted by XDJYoFull size. I would not buy any of Beretta's "special anniversary" editions of anything. As you can see by the price, they don't add value. If you want one, just buy a 92 and shoot it.Can you guys give me a opinion on this gun? Ive been wanting a Beretta and it seems to be a good price.

Is it California legal? I note that you are in NV but this firearm may be of interest to collectors here in California.
If you consider buying it, and if it's on the Roster (may not be due to 15-rd magazine), will they ship it with a 10-rd magazine or with no magazine?
If yes, and if it were me, I'd buy it and keep it for collector value and not shoot it at all, especially if Beretta loses the contract. Shoot it and forget about
investment value. JMO.Last edited by ifilef; 12-16-2015, 2:05 PM.Comment
