    A question about CA roster

    more like questionsss.

I'm interesting in revolver lately and looking for couple of S&W K or L frame. My question is on the roster, there is a "-#" follow by the model number, ex: 10-14/Steel. It's s&w model 10, but what the hell is that "-14"? Is the generation? If so, how come Glock, Sig, semi pistol don't have those? And does that matter for me if I found a online deal for 10-13(I'm making the number out of my head, I don't know if such model exist).

Yes, that -14 is a variation of the original model 10 of some sort. And you have to match that exactly to be Rostered.

Why don't Glock and others not have that, because they were smart not to differentiate what version a Glock 17 was with a "sub-model" number. As far as anybody is concerned, A G17 is a G17, no matter what grip frame version it is, that is until the SF versions came out.

Springfield is another company that comes up with a new model number everytime they blink and that causes issues with the Roster.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Thought so, I just can't believe a company like s&w will keep that sub model number on their guns' title knowing that will be trouble for CA roster(I know it's not much but CA is still a decent size market for firearms).

Thanks bud, I wish s&w will learn soon not to put sub model number on their title.

S&W was doing the sub model numbers long before the CA approved list was made into law.

Understand that, but keep miss a piece of CA market pie should encourage them not to continue with the sub model numbers. Or the very least, figure out another way like Glock's 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen.
