I'm having trouble with purchasing a Smith & Wesson 686 SSR. I really like the gun, but many of the gun shops by me have not had it in stock. I found the gun on Grab-A-Gun and I was stoked.
When checking with my local gun shop about facilitating the sale, background check, etc. I was told that they couldn't verify if the gun was CA compliant.
Here is how they list it on Grab-A-Gun...
SKU: GAG_SW178012FC
UPC: 022188780123
Manufacture Part Number: 178012
Here is how they list it on Bud's...
Model: 178012
UPC: 022188780123
Here is how they list it on S&W...
SKU: 178012
Model: 686 SSR
My local gun shop told me the SKU number from Grab-A-Gun should have an "A" at the end. When I called Grab-A-Gun they had no idea what they were talking about.
Basically my question is this... How can I tell if the damn thing is CA compliant? I don't want to order a gun online that my gun shop has to return and I get stuck paying a fat re-stocking fee.
ANY insight would be appreciated.
