CW9 Break in

I just picked up my new CW9 last week and I've been told that I'll have to put about 3 to 5 hundred rounds through it to break it in properly, but that could cost quite a bit so would hand cycling rounds through help or hurt the break in process.

Dont try too be tto smart with it. It only took me about 200 rounds to break it in. It actually worked just fine even within the 200 rounds. I simply had about a half a dozen FTF and FTE issues within the 200 rounds. After that, it worked perfectly and smooth. I have not had a single issue since then and I have put about 800 rounds through it. Last 600 rounds have been flawless. Its a great gun. You will have a lot of fun with it and if you have an out of state CCW, its a very comfortable gun to carry.

I guess, it's a matter of luck. In my case, FTF and FTE were the norm, and it wouldn't return to battery once every few rounds, as well. Ended up sending it back to Kahr, they replaced the slide assembly. Still had a couple of FTFs and FTEs, but it seems to be working now. I might even start trusting it after another 500 rounds or so, if they're flawless.
