Shield Mag Disconnect. Did I mess up?

Hey guys I did the magazine disconnect modification on my Shield. Everything works fine but I noticed when the yellow lever inside my Shield is pushed down and I close the slide, the trigger is dead. If I push it back up. It works fine. Is it supposed to be like that? I know that even if I forget to push the lever back up, when I put a mag in it'll push it up for me but I want to make sure this is normal.

The yellow lever is the sear deactivation lever, which is used to field strip the gun. With the sear deactivated, pulling the trigger won't release striker.
