Makarov in Bay Area

Curious question, where would one find a Makarov near the Bay Area? I live in San Mateo and have been thinking about a Mak, but the gun stores around me don't seem to have any.

Any possible leads?

Haven't seen any Maks in the San Jose area myself. Best shot is probably to check regularly in the handguns private sales or put a WTB ad in the Calguns Marketplace section. If you get lucky maybe somebody will be willing to PPT to you locally. I considered seeking a Mak as well.

Cordova Shooting Center in Sac had a batch of bulg maks come in 2 weeks ago, they were in good condition, worth the drive if you really want a mak.

Just called each one and they either have a P64 or just sold out (Cordova). Looks like I will be posting a WTB.

Not necessarily. Some pistols that are less than 50yo are on Federal C&R list, like CZ82. EG Maks are there (mine is 65, got it this year), Bulgarians are not.
