Don't own one, but I am saving up for a S&W M&PR8. Pretty awesome, but pricey - around $1300. I don't know anyone who's ever regretted buying a S&W Revolver.

I have the 340PD, if that is close enough?

Shooting .38 range reloads thru it is OK, forget putting many full power .357's downrange very often, they are NO fun.

If you are ever in Huntington Beach I'll be glad to let you try mine out at The Firing Line, no sweat.

I work with a couple guys that have them. Neither carry w/ .357 because they are beasts to control.

I have a 642. It's aluminum instead of scandium but isn't that much heavier. It's .38 +p but that's all you need in a belly blaster. Couple hundred cheaper as well.

agree... i cut my trigger finger every time I shoot .357, so I tend to load it with 38+P, which is MUCH softer.

I find mine is very accurate for what it is, though. I have no problem getting 3" groups at 10yds.

I have one and like it because it is not a "left it" gun. It fits real nice in my pocket in a nemesis (sp?) holster.
.357 loads are well, painful to shoot. I can shoot a box of Speer short barrel 357 out of mine before my hand wants to fall off. I have never had any of the hammer pulling effect with these rounds.
.38 spl wadcutters are my range/practice round with this gun.
I also have the 406 lasergrips on it, and the padded backstrap does not help.

i shoot 38+p in my 637 which is 3oz more and I really dont like it.. even with wadcutters it aint fun. I hate how you cant fully grip it (pinky hanging off). I think that if you want to CCW its better to get a 317 22lr because atleast you know for shure you can let off 9 shots or whatever and hit every single one.

I was thinking about the S&W M&P 340 CT. I'd rather have a 9mm but there is not much out there. I am looking for a CCW. Nice gun though.
