25 post sale rule

We need to reenact the 25 post rule before you can sell on the for sale section. There are WAY TOO many guys posting stuff with no prices, no pics, and walking on deals. These are TYPICALLY members with 1-10 posts who set up a sale and then they never visit or contributa again. There was a guy with one post selling the 2 f-series para frames and I was set to buy, we set the location and he crawfished the whole darn thing for no reason, gave a BS excuse of "it is illegal to do it" i told him to call ANY reputable gun store, never heard from him again.,

this is becoming a problelm

while i agree with what you mostly said, i dont think that 25 posts would be in the sale section so even then they might break the rules. also, 25 posts will cause people to spam or post irrelevant replies

but most importantly, I think that
no contribution + gun for sale = something
no contribution + no gun for sale = nothing

Would having a 25 post count have saved you from the guy's ignorance?

The mods got rid of it because they didn't want the unneeded and useless posts just to get the post count up.

I have noticed a large number or FS threads lately from guys who do not contribute, and almost abandon their FS post, or come on offer some item for sale at a huge mark up.

How about a solid 30 post 30 days rule.

IMO, it does not really matter if 25 or 30 rules apply. If a member with less than the required min post place an ad on the market and the mods did not catch it, PMs will be flying across the board for those who sees the ad even if the post gets deleted. I've seen it happened before.

I seen some people coming out with great deals from new members that post their goodies for very reasonable prices.

I am wary of any one selling who has a low post count. Get phone numbers and as much information as you can if you are dealing with someone with a low post count.

I came to this website and have sold alot of stuff at good prices , I dont have alot of posts outside of the sale forum . I have had more people Flake on me on the buying end than I can belive , What we going to do about them ?

There is no need for the administrators to institute such a post-count rule, when buyers and sellers can already apply their own standards.

No. I actually like that there is no 25 minimum, because a low post count is just another factor I use to do due dilligence in being sure the seller is legitimate or online-sales intelligent. It's a tip to me me that I must "go to the nines" with validating who, what, where, when, why, and pumping disclosure frrm the seller. If their post is mitigated, lacks info, they seem iffy, or communicate in grunts with 3-word PMs and emails, I would just as soon steer clear.

And as we had all seen, anyone can just chalk up 25 posts in a mater of one day.

Just goes to show that post count does not make folks as savvy as you may think.
