    Polymer frame 1911

ATI is going to sell a polymer frame 1911. Slide is precut for red dot. It takes Glock sights. And the msrp is under 700.

    Damn I really want one.

I am assuming the trigger design stays the same. 700 is not bad.

Rock River Arms has one as well. Haven't really heard much about it.

            Wow...

            What an abomination.

This wouldn't be the first time I've seen a poly attempt at the 1911.

They never seem to get any traction in the long term.

Wilson Combat even gave it a try.
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

                Pukey.

I paid $700 for my Kimber. I'll stick with that. Thanks.

I'd buy one just to try out. Shave off the finger grooves, and that slide is super ugly.

I like the idea of optics ready, 27.5 ounces, and Glock compatible sights.

                      -Fuggglyyy implemented, what the heck.

I'm happy to see any new guns hit the market
but it's the high price here that I don't understand.

Polymer / plastic as the material is cheap to buy and work with compared to steel.

So Polymer pistols might be expensive if you have to design one from the ground up you have to pay people to do that but the 1911 has already been designed many many times and in multiple materials so I would think the cost should be less.

This is just me but I wouldn't pay $700 for it.
unless I really enjoyed (or needed for competition shooting ) the upgrades they've done the metal parts and pieces, like the slide.

Please don't let my old opinion affect your decision to buy one though.

$700 is too much for a plastic gun

                              So... it's a service-sized Glock-36?

                              Okay....

                              For $700?

                              Nope.

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against polymer guns.
This time tomorrow I will be in possession of two Glocks, an M&P, and XD.
My non-polymer guns will still outnumber them, but only because of the wheelguns.

                              But don't call it a 1911.
