    Dan Wesson 715 revolver

    Hi Guys,

Is the Dan Wesson 715 revolver worth $1000+ price tag? how does it compare to SW 686?

    thanks

I dont think so, I had a 744 .44 mag for a looong time. It was a great gun but very heavy, I never liked having to set the gap for the cyl and tighten the barrel that can come loose. For 1k I would get something else and I think they may even be more than that

I've been considering one of these as well for a first revolver, but it's just so pricey. I'm assuming it has to be SAE'd into CA?

        I bought a 715 last year and it's awesome. I can't compare to a 686 but I do have a 66. I've had my 66 for almost 30 years and it's well broken in.

The 715 is an awesome pistol very accurate, smooth action and if I had any complaint I would say the all black sights are not good for me. If I had to do it over again I would buy it again. I paid a little less than that with shipping, SAE, etc....

Is it more accurate than your SW 66?

I'm pretty good with the 66 - 1000's and 1000's of rounds thru it. I'm just getting the feel of the 715 but they are pretty equal for me.

I've asked this exact question before. I love threads where revolvers are being discussed, especially anything to do with the 686

I'd pay more for the DW then the SW, but to each is own. And I don't know that I'd pay that much more.

i would go with a performance center smith for that price unless you really want to have the option of different barrels.

The new 715 is an awesome shooter..outshoots both my 586 and 686.

It out shoots your 586 and 686? Can you give a more detailed account of the comparison

DW being owned by CZ is true and that's that. DW firearms are still made by DW gunsmiths in house which is located in Norwich, NY.
