Wilson CQB, G19, S&W 617 range report continued

I finally had a little time to myself. I took the three pistols out with 200rds each and all performed flawlessly ( im going to lose my ability to clear malfunctions if this keeps up)

    CQB .45

Shooting some warm up groups with it, I was shooting a little high at 7yds, maybe half an inch....but once I settled down (2 mags or so) I was knocking out five round groups on the numbers of a b27 tgt. At 7 yds and a pace of about 2 rds per second I was keeping them all in the X ring of the b27. Out at 25yds my groups hovered around 3-4 inches and I am good with that. At 7 and ten yards I am cutting clover leafs if I do my part.

I was shooting an indoor range that allows me rapid fire and lets me draw from a holster, so I holstered up and started with singles to the head, and it did the job nicely. Ran some 5rd NSR drills, double taps, and failure drills(two to t he body , one to the head) It amazes me how nice it is to shoot this gun and how easy doubles are to keep in the ten ring out to ten yards. During the 5 rd NSR drills I would generally keep the shots within the 9 ring with an occasional yanked shot into the pelvic girdle, but 5rds in one second and these things happen.

All in all I really like this pistol and it seems that the dirtier it got, the smoother it felt.......until next time.

    G19

One of my favorite little guns. After my last outing I drifted the sight a little and viola, poa/poi at 7yds. Same thing, started with 5rd groups on the numbers of the b27, shot groups would cut a ragged hole and the number went away OR flyers would present a grouping immediately around the number, maybe resulting in a 1-1.5in grouping. Out to 25yds I can keep all shots within the 9 ring or in the head of the B27 tgt. I am happy this gun does not have eratic ejectiion issues like some others. Ran like a top as expected.

What a fun little blaster!! I adjusted the sights from the last outing, it was hitting a bit high and left. Once I got it dialed in a ten round group at ten yards would result in a nice little knot of hits slightly larger than a quarter....I was really impressed when I walked it out to 25yds...I am no bullseye guy but I would throw a flyer out of five rounds but the other four would be maybe an inch and a half spread with my induced flyer going maybe 2 inches out of that group. I am firing about a round every two seconds , so I am not taking all day to aim in.

Double action at ten yards for thirty rounds resulted in 100% hits in the x ring at a shot pace of about one per second, I just kept working the trigger and set the sight then pop.....rewarding cluster of holed in the x ring.

A couple guns did not go out today but.....I may not have a ton of guns, but I really like the ones I do have!!!!!
