    Walther P99QA Magazine Issues

I have a P99 QA in 40 which I absolutely love.....except for the mag issue I'm having. At 2 separate range days I have blown out at least 3 base plates. While firing the base plates have failed sending the spring and unspent ammo all over the bench. I really dont want to sell the pistol because of these malfunctions and am hoping that there is an alternative mag or updated baseplate. This thing fits me like a glove. I have weird sized hands so its hard for me to find something anywhere near this comfortable. Any help would be appreciated.

PS, I did a search but the thread was too old to reply to. Didn't have any pertinent info but a lot of people replied having the same pistol.

Quick google search shows other people with the same problem, possibly out of spec magazines or base plates.

Call S&W let them know what's going on and they'll probably send you new mags or new base plates.

      Good luck!

I have had a base plate break on me...I was able to get a replacement plate from SW...

Also you can use PPQ M1 mags....

CDNN has ten round mags available... 29.99.

        Midway has them for 41.

I too have had it happen with my P99 in 40. S&W sent out a few new base plates to fix the problem (granted this was 10ish years ago).

I have never had any issues with any of my other P99s in 9mm.

Thanks for the replys guys. Sorry for the late response but the site was down when I came back to look. I'll try S&W first then try other mags. Someone else mentioned SW99 mags? Anyone ever use these?
