    1911 Military Slide ?

I have a new 1911A1 GI Military Slide that is stamped with the manufacture's number 53397. I found out that this number indicates it was made by Numax Electronics Inc. in New York, in 1981.

The number 7790314 is also stamped on the side of the slide.

I'm considering building a gun with this slide, and would like to know if anyone knows anything about this slide?

It is it forged or cast? Metal quality? Are these slides dimensionally correct, Etc.? Any information will be helpful.

It's a GI replacement slide, milspec, not NM. you're gtg with any intended use.

These are GI replacement parts-they are good quality although perhaps not very pretty looking. I think that the gunsmith opinion on these is that they are rather hard, meaning the heat treatment they are given. This can make it a challenge to do any cutting on if you want sights installed requiring milling.
