    TM 1911 Build

Just thought I would show a TM build I did. I really like these frames and they are easy to work with not to mention there is a lot of different things you can do with this frame. Went with a simple Sarco slide with mixed inside parts. I did have to get a Remington .250 Beaver tail so it blended well for me. Picture doesn't show that but it is done that way now. Think this little girl is gonna get the frame painted tan and all other parts left mat black.

Next build I think will be a limited-10 one since that frame came in and I have gotten most of the parts.

Cool! Probably going with a 1911 Builders next. These things are not cheap to build. Gathering parts to start mine.

Yea seeing some of the ones here inspired me a lot. I am hooked and onto my third one which will be a custom Limited-10 which I have most of the parts now to do two builds. That is if I can stop demilling some of my AK kits and focus on this a tad more.

Out of curiosity, would you mind giving a ball park figure for how much your build cost? Or even just generally speaking, how much should one expect to spend on a build?

You can easily go in over a $1000 in just Wilson Combat parts.

Or can try and find a Sarco complete kit for cheap, everything minus frame.

My build with Jig, Frame, random tools and all internals is going to be about $750. A buddy of mine is already north of a grand, he just started getting his parts.

At this price we could have dros'd a decent 1911. But I been gathering parts over a year.

Well said RamonSJC its not about what I have in it for me since its a long term investment for me and I plan to build more so over time it will go down. On this build about 750.00 but consider I had a mill, I bought other tooling and all that was much needed so a bit closer to 1K. I buy as much as I can on tooling since I like doing these and I have three sets of Jigs now with two being modified to do most frames now. Once you are set up though you can do several calibers from 9mm into the corbin size if you wanted to. Hope this helps some but there is no building a cheap 1911 right off the bat really its more of a challenge and a love of doing it from an 80% platform.
