Just pucked up a Ruger LCR .22 WMR

The title pretty much says it. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but here She is (it was a gift from my amazing wife for quitting smoking).

The first thing I did was add a little orange nail polish to the front sight so I could pick it up more quickly and it really seems to work:

I also love the fluting on the cylinder And the unique extractor star:

The trigger pull feels lighter than my S&W 642-1 trigger but is a bit longer trigger pull. The grip that comes with the Ruger is honestly the best feeling boot grip I have heals, but since this is a .22 magnum, I may end up adding some wood or G10 grips. I personally love the sights on this gun since I added a bit of orange to the front sight. I may end up getting a night sight installed just for fun. When I end up getting my ccw I will probably end up carrying this quite often (as long as it ends up being reliable and accurate) because it seems to conceal on me better than my 642 or any other gun I own aside from my NAA Mini Mag. The gun fits into the cargo pocket of my tru spec duty pants and slips right into the magazine pocket inside of it and completely shields the trigger and trigger guard from anything in the pocket. And it manages to not jump my knee in any way while walking or jogging. That impressed me.

For a rimfire, I am very impressed with it, especially since it is designed off of a centerfield frame. Some people think the 6 round capacity is a downside. I used to own a Taurus 941 (kind of wish I didn't sell it) and it had an 8 round capacity. Unfortuneatly, it broke the transfer has on its first range outing and would never eject spent casings without slamming the casings out 1 by 1. From what I have heard, this is not a problem with the LCR because it has less rounds needing to be extracted once. While the .22lr version has 8 rounds. I personally didn't like loading the 941. It was crammed together and nothing ever seemed to work smooth. Plus the trigger pull measured 16 lbs on my scale. The LCR trigger is delightful and honestly more useable than my factory 642 trigger

The factory black sights really sick. Its very hard to see the front in low light so I changed that. Made a world of a difference. It is also extremely light.

I'll post more once I get to the range with it, but, until then, keep on shooting...

Serpa Holster for J frame Smith that i modified to fit my LCR:

Why I don't own many Ruger's : "read owners manual" engraved on all their guns
sigpicDon't ask how many guns I own, I lost count.

            CONGRATS!

Might get one of these for the GF.

At 0:40 this guy says, ".... The ballistics on .22 WMR at 3 to 5 feet is the same as .38, with a third of the recoil."

            True statement ?

They have very similar penetration and the energy levels are kinda close. I just like how fast I can shoot a .22 magnum while keeping more than acceptable accuracy. It will make for a good backup him. I can pull the trigger quicker on this LCR faster than my S&W 642-1 while using snap capes. That really helps. I just modified a J frame serpa holster to fit the Ruger LCR. It works great. I will post the picture in a bit.

Congrats on the purchase. If you think .22LR was hard to find lately, just wait til you start searching for .22WMR...

                        Nice!

I'd love to find a place where I could do an A / B comparison between this Ruger and the S&W 351PD.
Yes, the S&W is off-roster and is more expensive... however it is lighter and holds 7 rounds.

I actually found a good variety of .22 wmr today. CCI shotshells, CCI 30gr hp+V, CCI 40gr hp's, CCI 30gr accutip, and armscor 40gr hp's.

Oh and some older Winchester super x ammo for SUPER cheap. Less than 10 bucks.
